Dental Implants

We’ve all lost the odd tooth at times, whether it has been knocked out or loosened in a game of rugby or it has fallen out due to decay. Obviously, you don’t have to replace a missing tooth. But for many people, as well as being unsightly, missing teeth can cause problems with oral health.

Dental Bridges

A bridge (fixed partial denture) is a device which fills the gap where teeth are absent. Fixed bridges are bonded into place and can only be removed by a dental professional. Removable bridges, as the name implies, can be taken out and cleaned. Fixed bridges offer more stability than their removable counterparts.

Dental Crowns

Crowns are caps from metal or ceramic which may be placed for several reasons. Usually, the tooth has been broken or severely damaged by decay so that a filling can’t replace the rest of the tooth or make the tooth or even if temporarily filled it won’t be strong enough long term. A crown due to its ring effect holds together parts of a cracked tooth. Crowns also may be used to improve the appearance of teeth.

Root Canal Therapy

A dental abscess is usually treated with root canal treatment. Root Canal Treatment (Endodontic treatment) is the last try to save a tooth and is necessary when the pulp becomes inflamed or infected. The inflammation or infection can have several causes: deep decay, frequent dental procedures on the tooth, fracture, faulty crowns or a crack or chip in the tooth. Furthermore, trauma to a tooth may cause pulp damage even if the tooth has no visible chips or cracks. If pulp inflammation or infection is left untreated, it can become painful or lead to an abscess.

Dentures

There are several reasons why tooth extraction may be needed. A common reason involves a tooth that is too badly damaged, from trauma or decay, to be repaired. Other causes include A crowded mouth, wisdom teeth or periodontal disease.
